    • how do u like Aretha Franklin if u a 15 white boy?? u wasn’t even born yet. I’m don’t discriminated color but I don’t think u know her time and what she represented. don’t front u only listen to drake and Justin bieber!

    • He is being respectful, stop hating on this child. He can say rest in peace no matter what race or age.Aretha Franklin sang about respect.

  3. Sad that these millennials dont know much about the past and music. Hope some go and learn about Aretha and others of the past

    • JetsFanFox it’s no excuse with all the music outlets like Spotify , tidal and Apple Music that young ones don’t know I’m always on there exploring artist and taking full advantage .to not know in this day and time is just pure ignorance .

    • Not all! I’m a millennial (born 1990) and i know loads about past music. Apart from classical music, the oldest songs in my iTunes library date back to the 1940’s (Billie Holiday). I personally think Whitney Houston in her prime was the very best singer who ever lived, but Aretha is right up there with her, along with Barbra Streisand as the top 3 of all time.

    • A foolish know nothing millennial here, I saw Aretha Franklin live in concert at 18 years old 10 years ago. Don’t generalize us and we won’t generalize you.

  4. Damn she was alert and speaking yesterday with family, I guess she just wanted to say goodbye. R.I.P Aretha , Michael is waiting for you at heaven gateπŸ™

  5. Aretha Franklin thank you for all the beautiful music you gave us for over 50 years. You were a true musical genius, icon , legend, you even sang opera!!! May you Rest In Peace. May your memory and beautiful music live on
    forever!!!πŸŒΉβ€πŸ•Š

  6. Aretha will forever remain the Greatest voice of our Millennia!!! All Hail The Queen!!!

  7. Harvey nailed it. Diana Ross and the Supremes and Aretha Franklin are the two main artists that helped open the doors that most Black artists are able to walk through to this day. R.I.P. Aretha Franklin.

    • justino justino Yes, it was! A fantastic performance! Diana and Aretha actually lived in the same neighborhood in Detroit for years. Mary Wilson and Florence Ballard would attend Rev. Franklin’s church occasionally, too.

    • Let’s be real. Aretha broke into international acclaim before Diana and the Supremes.

  8. People forget that MTV didnt even play any black artists until Michael jackson released Billy Jean and they had to play it.

    • Trollasaur l don’t know about had 2. Believe it or not it was a struggle 4 MJ’s video to be aired, that’s how racist it was at the time. Yes even the king of pop had a hard way to go. He wasn’t welcomed with open arms like people think.
