See, it’s one thing to like black music, it’s another thing to act it out as a white woman. The same goes for the Japanese language – it’s okay if you want to learn it – but to only like it for aesthetic purposes can lead to situations where you tattoo something dumb on your hand but you don’t realize it because it “looks cool”. If she had any depth and learned Japanese beyond a few phrases to shout on stage she might not have gotten “bbq grill” tatted on her palm. By the way she changed it “bbq grill finger heart” – even after consulting with a Japanese tutor which shows her ignorance and, frankly; stupidity that she didn’t know placement matter when you write in Japanese.
